When we begin a meditation practice, it is mostly irrelevant which practice we choose. I say this because there are some practices better suited for certain individuals than others, and our individual paths will unfold before us effortlessly if we allow it. But whichever way you approach it, the goal is the same: to touch that place within that just is, or like I named it yesterday, the Christ.

That place, the Christ within, is the point from which we observe. It is the One that is doing the seeing and hearing. So when we are still, as in meditation, we can practice watching. Watching the thoughts arise from the stillness and return back from which it came, we can see that we are not our thoughts. As they return to nothing, our consciousness (the Christ) remains whole and untouched. It is the same with emotions, even strong or unpleasant ones, they are only what we judge them to be and label them as. We can watch anger or sexual desire come up out of nothing and as we watch, it will eventually return back to nothing.

The more that we practice staying in the present moment, the more we can practice watching. And as we continue to practice watching, we continue to align with the knowing of ourselves as the Christ.
