Sometimes I try to plan my days, weeks, and years but I’m starting to realize that MY plans are mostly irrelevant. It’s good to have goals, dreams, and aspirations but there are times when rigid adherence to routine and obsessive planning can get in the way of serendipity. My brain appreciates structure and routine but I’m starting to allow for days where I just go with the flow and I’m never disappointed.
That includes days of “doing nothing”. On those days, I move slowly and intentionally, and like to be in “hermit” mode. I have found that the most profound ideas and insights come during these times. In our busy lives it can be difficult to fit these kinds of days into our schedules, so I’ll be thankful for these days when I get them.
